Kessel is passionate learner of programming languages, historical art movements, and the immersion of creative writing in web design, currently pursuing academic credits for a double-degree in Computer Science and Art History at the University of Maryland - College Park.

On campus, Kessel is student in the Break Through Tech Guild, an active sister of alpha Kappa Delta Phi International Sorority Inc., the Vice President of Diversity & Inclusion of the Multicultural Greek Council, and an athlete with the UMD Club Track & Field team.
